This is me about 20 years ago … and yes, I’ve always loved a splash of colour!
Even when I was little, colour was everything to me - whether it was a tea set, a notebook or an outfit, I just picked it because the colours FELT good! Growing up, I never tried to be fashionable, as long the colours worked for me. 
So, when I started making homewares, I just wanted to create pieces that felt good to look at, and of course, I became obsessed about the COLOUR immediately. Not the materials or even the shapes. 
Before long, I started blending my own pigments. Not because I had some big plan to start a business selling pigments – it was just so frustrating that I couldn’t buy the shades I wanted. Sound familiar? 
I was determined to get the colours I could see in my head (I’m stubborn like that). So, I started experimenting - it was messy, unpredictable, and a very expensive bit of trial and error… but I loved it. I was hooked. 
It’s funny looking back now, because at the time I was just doing my own thing, but soon other makers started asking about my colours, and that’s when I realised I wasn’t the only one needing (and craving) more than the basic colours out there.
And that’s how Homeware Design Co happened – by accident, really - from my love of colour and a bit of inventiveness along the way!
